Acest mesaj aparea pe site-ul Zappos.com in momentul in care am scris acest articol. Motivul a fost prezentat in mai multe stiri, titlul cel mai intalnit fiind: Zappos.com hacked; 24 million customers affected.

Am scris multe despre Zappos de-a lungul timpul pe acest blog. Ba chiar am promovat editia in limba romana a cartii scrisa de Tony Hsieh, CEO Zappos.

Totul pentru ca am considerat ca trebuie promovata ideea culturii de companie pe care o promoveaza Zappos.

Azi dimineata acelasi Tony Hsieh scria pe blogul companiei:

“We’ve spent over 12 years building our reputation, brand, and trust with our customers. It’s painful to see us take so many steps back due to a single incident”

Departe de a fi acesta singurul motiv si cel mai eficient mod de a preveni aceste incidente, nu pot insa sa nu ma gandesc din perspectiva unui om care gestioneaza managementul risculu,i daca exista in Zappos o cultura ce putea preveni asfel de evenimente.

Folosind exemplul Zappos de astazi  intrebarea care se pune este cate dintre companiile mari care cheltuiesc efort si resurse importante in crearea unei culturi si a unui brand de companie capabile sa sustina strategia si obiectivele companiei isi petrec un numar cel putin egal de ore identificand si controland incidente si riscuri ce ar putea pune in pericol intreaga constructie. La fel precum aminteste Hsieh de cei 12 ani.

Sunt convins ca in final astfel de evenimente pot fi usor uitate de piata. Impactul asupra clientilor precum si imaginea de incertitudine cel putin in randul celor afectati va ramane insa. Si ceea ce e greu de construit (o cultura senzationala) e si mai greu de sustinut. Am convingerea ca accesul la resursele din cadrul grupului Amazon vor fi folosite in mod inteligent in final de Zappos.

Raman insa cheltuielile si eforturile pompieristice de acum pentru a regla situatia, pentru a evalua impactul si urmarile.

Astfel de incidente se pot intampla si s-au mai intamplat. Banci au avut sistemul de internet banking piratat. Cu tot cu sistemul de risk management pus in practica in institutiile financiare, din ratiuni legale sau de importanta strategica. De aceea mesajul nu este ca Zappos nu avea un sistem de identificare a incidentelor inainte de a avea loc, ci e unul legat, asa precum toate celelalte avandca subiect Zapos, de cultura organizatiei.

Nu sunt in specialist in cultura organizationala. Mi-ar placea in final totusi sa aflu sau sa vad evaluat profesionist impactul acestui incident asupra culturii Zappos, pentru ca in ceea ce priveste impactul in balanta companiei, acesta se va putea vedea public in cele din urma.

Pentru a intelege mai bine de ce am considerat util de mentionat aceasta stire, va invit sa cititi, asa cum spuneam cartea CEO-ului Zappos. In final, in ciuda acestui incident, ramane una dintre recomandarile mele de suflet.

O gasiti la Editura Publica, si o puteti cumparar singura sau ca parte a unor promotii.

Accept ca forta e, uneori, necesara. Dar as vrea ca fiecare manager, cand o foloseste, sa fie constient ca a esuat in rolul lui de conducator si ca face ceva ce orice idiot poate face, sa resimta situatia ca pe un esec personal

Acestea fiind spuse mai adaug doar ca astept cu nerabdare varianta in romaneste a cartii Drive. Mi-ar placea sa am sansa sa fiu printre primii care vor scrie o recenzie a cartii odata cu aparitia variantei in romaneste.  Bogdan, ce zici?

Astazi am gasit mult adevar si multe invataminte in ce spune Adrian Stanciu pe blogul sau. Recomand tuturor celor ce in munca lor influenteaza procesele din companie sa citeasca articolul. Cu alte cuvinte toti ar trebui sa il citim pentru ca toti influentam procesele prin munca noastra.

Astazi am realizat insa si de ce. Pentru ca nu am citit poezia potrivita. Pentru ca nu a recitat-o cine trebuie. Pentru ca nu o intelegeam sau o intelegeam prea repede.  Si tot astazi am vazut prezentarea de mai jos.

Da, am o fiica si da o voi sfatui sa citeasca poezii.

In fact in the last few weeks I wrote about books that I’ve read both on hard copies and on my Kindle. And it’s obvious to everyone else too that most of the readers these days spend their reading time on e-books too. It’s enough to go by metro for a few stops and you will see a significant number of people reading on their e-book readers.

I will definitely continue enjoying my hard copies too but my Kindle is more and more with me. Many people speak about where the book industry goes with this challenge between different kinds of book formats. There are people enjoying nowadays only e-books or still going along with the hard copy. I will stick to both for the moment but the future of books is a discussion that’s worth having.

A few days ago  a read about a discussion exactly on this topic between Leo Babauta and Seth Godin. If Seth is very much known by all of you, maybe Leo needs a short introduction. He is mostly known for his Zenhabits blog. I invite you to continue listening their conversation and also if you might, share your thoughts on the topic.

Who knows maybe I’ll be able to also invite some publishers or authors to share their thoughts. I will keep you posted on this.
